Waterville was included in a story on Today with Hoda & Jenna about last-minute spring break destinations. The segment (starting around the 2:50 mark) had a nice shout-out to Colby, referenced the Lockwood Hotel, and noted how the city is "artsy" and "the greatest new little destination."

The Portland Press Herald highlighted 'New Works', a ballet production directed by Annie Kloppenberg, chair of the Department of Performance, Theatre, and Dance at Colby, and Nell Shipman, executive director of the Portland Ballet.

Media across the state covered how the Colby community and Waterville's Beth Israel congregation harvested ice for the synagogue's soon-to-open ritual cleansing bath. Many students participated in the event, and according to the Dorothy "Bibby" Levine Alfond Assistant Professor of Jewish Studies Rachel Issacs they did "amazing work," and she had "tears of absolute joy" from the community coming together.

The Climate Reality Check, co-created by Associate Professor of English Matthew Schneider-Mayerson with Colby's Buck Lab for Climate and Environment, received significant media attention. The new tool, which evaluated whether Oscar-nominated films reflect our present climate reality, was covered by Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, and the Los Angeles Times, to name a few.
Gail Carlson, director of Colby's Buck Lab for Climate and Environment and assistant professor of environmental studies, was quoted in a WebMD article about lowering your exposure to forever chemicals. “It’s hubris to think we can dump chemicals into the environment and that they won’t contaminate our food sources," she noted in the story.

President David A. Greene was featured in a story about Colby's successful community-building work in Waterville. In the piece, which was picked up by a range of media, he noted that higher ed institutions “have a moral obligation to contribute to the betterment of their communities” and that this work can “help change the narrative of higher education.”

In a special Q&A feature story by Politico, Assistant Professor of Government Nick Jacobs and Professor of Government Dan Shea were interviewed about the key findings of their trending book The Rural Voter, including how Democrats need “authentically rural” candidates if they’re going to win in rural areas in 2024 and beyond.

PRINT and Art Daily highlighted the Colby Museum's new exhibition and Special Collections archive of the popular arts publication Esopus. In the piece, the magazine’s founder Tod Lippy referenced Colby’s “fantastic Special Collections,” and how he hopes the archive will inspire all kinds of creative activity.

Professor of Government Daniel Shea worked with U.S. News & World Report on a story about older citizens and voting. He noted that voters undergo a cost-benefit calculation about the value of voting and how for older Americans the cost is lower because they’re aware of current events, have time, and “know how the voting process works.”
