Portland Press Herald
The official naming of the Greene Block + Studios on Waterville’s Main Street was covered by the Portland Press Herald and network affiliates WABI-TV and WFVX-TV. In the stories, President Greene said the “boundless generosity and trust” of benefactors Peter and Paula Lunder was inspiring, and that being linked with them in this building was "the honor of a lifetime.”
Bob Thompson: This House is Mine, currently on view at the Colby College Museum of Art, received multiple major reviews and coverage last week. The exhibition was included in a Forbes list of "Top Arts Exhibitions" on college campuses, and it also received coverage and reviews in Frieze as well as the Washington Post.

The Portland Press Herald reviewed an exhibition on view at the Portland Media Center as part of the Freedom & Captivity Initiative, spearheaded by Colby faculty. Olivia Hochstadt '21 co-curated the exhibition and spoke with Bob Keyes about her experience. "It has been for me a process of breaking down my own mentality surrounding who is incarcerated and bringing it to a much more human level."

Tiny House Talk
Painter Chris Rodiger '22 was interviewed by Tiny House Talk about his project building a cedar tiny house onto his truck. Tiny House Talk, a website sharing information and stories from those around the country who have built tiny homes, shared the video created by Colby and included it along with an interview with Rodiger about the project.

The Morning Sentinel, News Center Maine, and the Associated Press posted stories on the Sept. 18 Gordon Center groundbreaking event. The AP story was picked up by well over 50 media outlets across the country, including papers in California, Washington, and Texas, to name a few.

Business Insider
Lisa Arellano, associate professor of women's, gender, and sexuality studies, provided commentary for an article discussing Texas's recent abortion law and how it can contribute to systemic racism. The story was published in a variety of national media, including Ms. Magazine, and Business Insider.
Mainebiz published an article on the Davis Institute for Artificial Intelligence and its inaugural director, Amanda Stent. Titled "Colby's new AI director may spark a new kind of liberal learning," the article emphasized the importance of how the College is the first liberal arts school to establish an institute dedicated to incorporating artificial intelligence into the curriculum.
The Sierra Club published its list of 2021's top 20 "Coolest Schools," placing Colby at number 12. "Colby wears its sustainability values on its sleeve," noted the article, which also highlighted the improvements Colby has made to address climate change, protect the natural world, and encourage environmental stewardship.

In a Portland Press Herald article about Maine colleges and Covid-19, the College said that “while Colby is anticipating that nearly 100 percent of our campus community will be vaccinated, we will continue to monitor the health of our community, which is our No. 1 priority, through a rigorous testing program, and adapt our policies and procedures as the circumstances require.”
Culture Type included the Colby College Museum of Art's retrospective on artist Bob Thompson in its list of top 15 exhibitions of the summer that are also on view this fall. The article noted that the show is one of only two retrospectives on Thompson and the first in more than 20 years.
