Colby Announces Commencement Weekend 2021 Plans

Colby College is pleased to announce that it will honor its Class of 2021 with in-person ceremonies May 22-23, 2021.
Commencement exercises will be held Sunday, May 23 at 10 a.m. when students will one by one cross the commencement stage, upholding a 200-year-old tradition. Each student will be allowed two guests to attend the ceremony on the lawn in front of the College’s iconic Miller Library, which allows for guests to be spaced safely apart.
Baccalaureate will take place Saturday, May 22 at 10 a.m. This intimate ceremony, when students gather with faculty, will take place outdoors this year instead of in its traditional setting inside Lorimer Chapel. Guests will not be allowed.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, other guests can watch the commencement ceremony virtually.
In case of severe weather, commencement will be held in the field house in the Harold Alfond Athletics and Recreation Center, in which case guests will not be permitted. The College is continually monitoring the public health situation posed by the pandemic and will adjust its plans should the need arise.
