Three Alumni Elected to Board of Trustees
With a broad array of experiences, they will help guide the College through its next phase of growth
Three industry-leading individuals have been elected to Colby’s Board of Trustees. Their expertise in entrepreneurship, digital media, law, the arts, and education will add new insights to the College’s governing board.
New to the board are William Carr ’89, entrepreneur, coauthor of Working Backwards, and former Amazon executive; Matthew Reilly ’88, a preeminent antitrust practitioner and partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP; and Jennifer Alfond Seeman ’92, founder of Arts2You, a Boston-based art-tutoring brokerage.

Each brings expertise, fresh perspective, and a love for their alma mater that will serve the board and the entire Colby community well as we focus on the present and exciting future for Colby.”
Bill Carr ’89 joined Amazon in 1999 and became vice president of digital media, where he launched and oversaw Amazon Music, Prime Video, and Amazon Studios. In 2021, he coauthored Working Backwards: Insights, Stories, and Secrets from Inside Amazon. Today, through consulting and keynote speaking, he helps CEOs and leadership teams build operational excellence and cultures of innovation. He majored in economics and English at Colby, served in student government, was on the club ski team, and played varsity soccer. In 2025, he joined Colby’s Halloran Lab for Entrepreneurship’s Advisory Board. He also serves on the board of directors for the National Outdoor Leadership School and Worldreader. Carr earned his M.B.A. from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.
Matt Reilly ’88 is a partner at the law firm of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and leads its top-ranked U.S. antitrust practice. He is one of the country’s preeminent antitrust practitioners, focusing on a wide range of antitrust matters, including antitrust litigation, complex transactions, antitrust counseling, and government investigations. Before entering private practice, Reilly spent 13 years at the Federal Trade Commission, overseeing merger investigations and litigating several merger and non-merger trials. At Colby, he majored in economics/math and government, played football, and was a captain for the indoor and outdoor track teams. He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his M.A. in economics and public policy from Duke University.
Jenny Alfond Seeman ’92 is founder of Arts2You, a Boston-based agency offering personalized arts instruction and education services. Formerly coordinator of Russian operations at McKinsey & Company’s St. Petersburg and Moscow offices, she currently serves on the boards of the Harold Alfond Foundation, Noble and Greenough School, the Alfond Scholarship Foundation, and the Colby College Museum of Art’s Board of Governors. At Colby, Seeman majored in Russian/Soviet studies and received the Condon Medal, awarded to the graduating senior who best exemplifies citizenship and contribution to college life. After graduating, she moved to St. Petersburg as a Thomas J. Watson Fellow, teaching environmental awareness, outdoor leadership, and citizens’ initiative to Russian students.
