In a list of top things to do around the Boston area, the Boston Globe included the Colby Museum of Art exhibition Bob Thompson: This House is Mine, which is currently on view through Jan. 9, 2022.
In its video story "Art by the incarcerated," CBS News included an exhibition in Portland last fall co-curated by Olivia Hochstadt '21 that was a part of the statewide initiative Freedom & Captivity, spearheaded by Catherine Besteman, Colby’s Francis F. Bartlett and Ruth K. Bartlett Professor of Anthropology. "What surprised me the most was how kind the people I met were: respectful, courteous," said Hochstadt, who last summer landed an internship with the nonprofit Maine Prisoner Advocacy Coalition that took her inside the Maine State Prison to hold weekly art classes.

An NBC News article about Harvard addressing caste discrimination referenced Colby's efforts surrounding this issue. In October, Colby announced the addition of caste to its non-discrimination policy, and was one of the first colleges to do so.
