Seniors studying studio art have spent years honing their skills and working in their chosen media. Sometimes the creation of their art has been a solitary process, as the students worked to make the vision in their minds’ eye come to life. But studio art professors have helped the student artists realize their goals, and soon everyone will be able to see the fruits of their labor at the 2023 Senior Exhibition.
Participating senior artists Mary Bevilacqua, Muna Brown, Erin Coughlin, Kimkim Dang, Libby Johnson, Kayla Merriweather, Chauncey Morgan, Carrie Nguyen, Burr Rhoads, Altie Rogers, Amy Schubert, Sydney Tobia, and Wendy Wei are celebrating the culmination of their studio art studies with the exhibition of their capstone projects in printmaking, photography, painting, and sculpture. Their work will be on display May 4-22 at the Davis Gallery in the Colby Museum of Art. The exhibition will open with a reception and awards ceremony from 5-7 p.m. May 4. The art will also be displayed in an exhibition catalog, featuring the images, artists’ statements, and analyses of the works.
